It is with sorrowful hearts hat the family of Marianna Bertolucci announce her sudden and unexpected passing on September 7, 2019. Maria was born 1933 in Capannori, Italy. She immigrated to Port Alberni in 1958 to marry her sweetheart. Maria’s love for life shined through the love and devotion that she had for her family and friends. Those of us that had the honour to have Maria in our lives enjoyed her beautiful smiles, gracious hospitality and her most wonderful Italian cuisine.
She is survived by her husband Ivano, daughter Patrizia (Darcy), son Carlo (Glenda), grandchildren (Diana, Keith, Matthew, Sarah); great-grandchildren (Anja), and many more family members in Italy.
A funeral for Maria will be held on Monday, September 16, 2019 at 10:00am at Holy Family Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church, 4731 Burke Road, Port Alberni, BC.
In lieu of flowers donations in Maria’s memory can be made to Westhaven Long Care Facility in Port Alberni, BC or to a charity of your choice.
