OBITUARY

Carl J. Suire

September 4, 1944September 17, 2019

Carl J. Suire better known as GRAMPS/POPS went to be with our Lord and his loving wife on September 17, 2019.

Carl was born in Erath, Louisiana to Alden & Gertie Suire. He later would move with his family to Port Arthur, TX, where he attended Thomas Jefferson High School and would later marry Darlene, spending the rest of their life together in Beauxart Garden located in Nederland, TX.

He loved his Cajun roots and enjoyed always listening to Cajun music and going out dancing with friends and family. He was always the life of the party and loved visiting all his relatives in Louisiana. He and Darlene had a love for animals and on their 3 acres of land in Nederland, they raised animals ranging from horses, pigs, dogs and chickens… He also loved his birds – exotic chickens, pigeons and even finches. Always wanting to be outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and just sitting on the porch in his later years. True to the Cajun heritage, he loved it when you would visit him and would always say “don’t wait too long to come back to see me”!

Carl was preceded in death wife, Darlene Suire; Parents, Alden and Gertie Suire; brother, Michael Suire; and brother-in-law, Ray Ramirez. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Hughes and husband, Michael of Orange, TX; granddaughters, Jessica Underwood and husband, Ryan of Orange, TX; Emily Garcia and husband, Josh of San Antonio, TX and great-granddaughter, Jensen Underwood; sister, Bobbie Ramirez of Port Arthur, TX; brother, Greg Suire and wife, Brenda of Kingwood, TX; 2 nephews; 4 nieces; 3 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews.

Gramps will be missed, and we will always remember his loving stubborn ways! He did live life to the fullest, not worrying what each day would bring and just living it a day at a time.

He is happiest now, with his loving wife, Darlene, whom he missed each and every day after she went to be with our Lord and Savior on September 10, 2012.

A gathering of friends and family will be from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with a rosary to begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by a service at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.

Carl was always doing or saying something to make someone smile and laugh. The best memories were from the Savoy family reunions when he dressed up or when he got on the table to dance to Cajun music. I’ll never forget seeing him dance with Jane (Memaw) at Desi’s wedding. He was a kind man. I know he is having one big reunion with those who passed before him and I bet he has his crawfish belt buckle on too! Prayers for all the family.
