Winona Purgahn Peveto, 96, of Port Acres passed away on Friday, February 21, 2020, at her residence in Port Acres.
Winona was born on January 20, 1924, in Port Arthur, Texas. The daughter of Edna Meyers Purgahn and Max Purgahn, Sr. She was a member of Procter Baptist Church in Port Arthur and was a member of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile. Winona was a retired lab technician for Dupont Chemical Company for twenty-seven years. She loved her family dearly and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Survivors include her brother and two sisters, Max Purgahn Jr., Selma Darder and Norma White; a host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Earl Pruitt and Alfred Peveto.
A visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Chapel Service to immediately follow at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves, Texas.
