Tim grew up in Brecksville, OH and spent childhood summers at his family farm in Galion, OH. He attended the Brecksville school system and graduated in 1970 with a degree in Political Science from Hiram College. A scientist at heart, he accepted a position in tire research at BF Goodrich upon graduation. He spent the final years of his career working with static dissipative compounds at Lubrizol Corporation, where he became the proud inventor of an anti-static polymer, which he received a patent for in 2004.
An avid outdoorsman, he was an expert skier, enjoyed hiking many trails, and loved bicycling. He was an accomplished hang-glider pilot for over 40 years. Truly a pioneer of the sport, he built many of his own early gliders. To enjoy his love of the sport, he traveled to Utah’s Point of the Mountain annually and frequented many other hang-gliding sites across the country, including his dearly loved Wallaby Ranch in Florida. Tim retired in 2009 in Lakewood, OH but remained active and adventurous into his late 60s. He and his dear companion Barb spent many happy times at his farm with their rescue dogs; and in recent years he enjoyed walking his special dog, Lady.
Tim will be buried at Iberia Cemetery (Iberia, OH). A celebration of his life will be announced at an appropriate time.
