OBITUARY
Lawrence Livingstone Gourlay
May 12, 1936 – December 26, 2020
GOURLAY – Lawrence Livingstone “Larry” was one tough old guy who finally succumbed to his lengthy battle with declining health on December 26, 2020 in Maple Ridge, B.C. He was predeceased by father Albert, mother Marion, son David. He is survived by wife Dale, son Neil (Crystal), daughters Tara (Grant), Erin (Craig), grandchildren Prem, Joshua, Jeremy, Brianna, and Hannah as well as great grandchildren Quinn, Sophia, Auryn and Aevum. Many thanks to Pastor Ed, neighbors, friends, and Larry’s work buddies for visiting with him throughout the years. You all made his days brighter by stopping in. A special thanks to long time neighbors and friends the Lafonds for absolutely all you have done for the family over the years. We would also like to extend a thank-you to the staff at Independence Matters for their care for Larry while he was home and of course the amazing group of staff, caregivers, and volunteers at Baillie House. No service by request. In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Larry to Baillie House, Recreation c/o Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation or to a care facility of your choice for an after Covid party for residents and staff would be gratefully appreciated.

Dale... I am so saddened by the passing of Larry. I have many memories of laughing so hard at his jokes, his sass and his love for you and the countless times he would come and visit your Mom, Opal. May you find comfort knowing they are together again, sitting on the deck overlooking the courtyard laughing together and both keeping an eye on you. It was my pleasure knowing you both! My sincere condolences - Kathy (formerly of Haney Lane) ❤️😢💙

Larry was my neighbour growing up for a few years in maple ridge. I always popped my head over the fence hoping for an invitation to swim in their pool. I always chatted with Larry and swam with jeremy when I could. Will always remember him never turning me away for a swim. All the best to Dale and family during this time.

Dear Dale and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I often think of our days on Fern Crescent and remember what good friends my dad and Larry were.
My thoughts are with you all at this difficult time...
