Valerie Grace Jorssen

June 3rd, 1935 – May 30th, 2017

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Valerie Grace Jorssen, age 81 of Pitt Meadows, B.C. passed away on Tuesday, May 30th, 2017. Valerie was born June 3rd, 1935 in Cape Town, South Africa and immigrated with her late husband Ellis Jorssen in 1965 seeking better opportunities for their family. Valerie worked at the Consumers Co-op in Pitt Meadows for over 30 years and was well known throughout the community. She was an active member of the Pitt Meadows Anglican Church and shared her love of music by playing the piano. Many have been graced with her natural ability to play the piano by ear. She was a nostalgic music buff and loved classical music. She enjoyed reading, knitting, bridge, bowling and anything where she can be around others.

Valerie lived a life full of zest and energy that touched many people and she will be sadly missed.

Valerie is survived by her daughter Renee (John) Chadwick, son Peter (Tamar) Jorssen, and grandchildren Cullen, Reaghan, Brendon and Aiden and her sister Marie (Roman) Florian, brother Sydney (Beatrice) Lotter, and Rosie Cole and many brother and sister in-laws and nieces and nephews.

Please join us as we celebrate her life on Friday, June 16th at 2:00 pm at the Pitt Meadows Golf Course 13615 Harris Road in Pitt Meadows. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Val’s memory to the Pitt Meadows Anglican Church.
