Donald Roland Malm 1930-2020 Education: Donald attended Washington High School Portland, University Of Oregon, University of Oregon Medical School and Pacific University Oregon (Forest Grove) Donald worked at the University of Oregon Medical School as a phlebotomist, and is cited as providing technical support in a paper for the Blood Journal 1961 18: 1-17 “Decreased Erythrocyte Survival in Hemoglobin H Disease As a Result of the Abnormal Properties of Hemoglobin H: The Benefit of Splenectomy” DEMETRIOS A. RIGAS RIGAS, ROBERT D. KOLER, George Cummings, Marie L. Duerst, Donald R. Malm, Katherine Swisher and Patricia Vanbellinghen at the University of Oregon Medical School Mountaineer and Ski Patrol, Ski Instructor Donald was a member of the Portland Mazamas and on November 3, 1962 was awarded for his mountain climbing achievements, The 91st, 16 Major Peaks Award. He was a Ski Instructor and Ski Patroller at Ski Bowl, Oregon. He also worked there year round maintaining, building ski runs, and buildings at Ski Bowl. Donald Curled at the Portland Curling Club in the early 60’s when it was located at the Lloyd Center Ice Rink. Benefactor: Donald was a member of the Northwest Amiga Group, he donated office space for the computer group in the Galleria, Downtown Portland. Donald was a kind and generous person.
