to father Ding Lin and mother Sui Yulan. Being the middle child
between an older brother, Ding Bosheng, and younger sister, Ding
Wenwen, Hongsheng grew up with his family on the university
campus of Shandong Agricultural University in Tai’an, Shandong
Province, where both of his parents worked. In 1970, he was
accepted to a work unit with the People’s Liberation Army. In
1978, he graduated with a Bachelors of Economics from the
University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.
After university, Hongsheng began his career with China National
Machinery & Equipment Import & Export Corporation (CMEC)
from 1978 to 1985. Subsequently, his raising talents allowed him to
transfer to the Hong Kong-based firm Macvin, with operations in
China and the United States. In 1991, Hongsheng moved his family
to Tualatin, Oregon, where he became a Vice President at Pacific
Industries, Inc.
Ding Hongsheng is survived by his wife Zhu Li and their son Tony.
Hongsheng met “LiLi" when he was 17, and she was 16, in Beijing.
They wed in 1980 and had their son “Dingding” in 1983.
Throughout his life Hongsheng worked hard to provide a good life
for his family and to be able to enjoy time with those he loved. He
believed firmly in Confucian traditions, being a devoted caretaker
for his whole family. On 13 April, 2019, Hongsheng passed away
peacefully, with by his family beside him.
