W. Joyce Renfro (also known as Wanda Joyce Moy), 64, of Portland died Tuesday, September 22, 2020 of complications from heart surgery. Joyce was born May 26, 1956 in Klamath Falls, Oregon to the late Kim Shoon Chin and Mue Jim Ng. Joyce graduated from Cleveland High School and attended Portland State University and Portland Community College.
Joyce was married to Roy Murray from 1978 to 2011. She married Barney Renfro in 2013, who preceded her in death in 2019. Joyce loved to read, visiting her local library often. She also was a wonderful cook. Her berry cheesecakes were legendary, which she often gave to her neighbors and friends in appreciation for their acts of kindness to her family and the neighborhood. In addition, she was skilled in American Sign Language and volunteered to provide signing services to her church and community. She was also a major caregiver for her father in his last years of life.
Joyce leaves behind a number of friends from her various social groups with whom she enjoyed sharing fellowship—the coffee group at Papaccino’s Coffee House, the “Back Niners” at the Thompson Road Bible Fellowship, friends from her work at The American Red Cross and Cleary’s Restaurant, and her periodic volunteer activities at Union Gospel Mission.
A graveside service for family and close friends only will be held at 11:00am, Friday, October 16, 2020, at Willamette National Cemetery. A celebration of Joyce’s life will be held at a later date.

To Joyce’s family: I remember sharing classes with Joyce (Wanda back then) when we were in school, and enjoyed our short chats the past couple of years when we saw each other. I’ve been praying for you all, that God will cover you with His comfort and love as you go through this sad time of loss.
