Dr. David F. Pelino
November 12, 1952 – July 20, 2018
David F. Pelino, M.D., 65, of New York died unexpectedly in Manhattan on July 20, 2018.
Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Pasco and Angelina (Rossi) Pelino; husband of Sophia Y. Grineva-Pelino; nephew of Teresa Lepore of North Providence, Norma Pelosi of Massachusetts and the late Henry Rossi, Lydia Delmonaco and Arthur Rossi. Dr. Pelino is also survived by several cousins.
Dedicated to helping his patients, Dr. Pelino, was a psychiatrist in private practice in Manhattan and Westchester. He completed his psychiatry residency at New York - Presbyterian Hospital and was a graduate of the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research.
Witty and charming, he loved travel, art and literature. Proud of his grandparents’ Italian heritage, Dr. Pelino spoke Italian and often traveled to Italy. He was an author himself writing three mystery novels under a pseudonym.
His death is a big loss for both family and friends. As the artist Renoir said “the pain eventually passes, but the beauty of the person remains.”
