Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Giosaffatto and Antonette (Calvano) DiMichele; wife of the late Arthur R. Carrier; mother of Jacquelyn L. Carrier, with whom she resided; sister of Margaret Mignacca, Adeline Banick and the late Domenica Sohigian, Rosalie, Nunzio, Frederick, Violet and Nascenzio DiMichele. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.
She attended RI School of Design. She is an accomplished seamstress, and outstanding artist in ceramics. And, she was awarded many prizes for her artwork, including the highest award in ceramics for her creation of an Egyptian piece. In her youth, she was an outstanding skater, even appearing in a photograph in the Providence Journal. She was an herbalist who grew her own herbs. She had a pleasant manner, and was a loving and excellent mother and dear wife. She was collector of fine glass, and member of the RI Bottle Club.
Visitation will be held Thursday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. in the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Ann Church, 280 Hawkins Street, Providence. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
