

William Joseph Gaynor, Sr., 67 passed peacefully at home on February 5, 2016. He was the beloved husband of Dianne (Abbott) Gaynor. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Francis "Bud" Gaynor and Doris (Donovan) Gaynor Mr. Gaynor proudly served in the U.S Army, stationed in Korea from 1968-1970 he was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 35. Mr. Gaynor was employed by Dunkin Donuts as manager for 35 years, until his retirement in 2009. He is survived by his two daughters, Dawn Pinkham and Shannon Gaynor; brothers, Robert, Dennis, John, Kenneth as well as his only sister, Janet M. Capuano; grandchildren, Breanna, Joshua, Billie Gene (Jojo), Tyler and Cameron; and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Gaynor is predeceased by his only son William J. Gaynor, Jr,. and his brothers Ronald and Gary. Billy loved spending time with his family and was a die-hard fan of both the N.E. Patriots and Boston Red Sox The funeral will begin on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 9:00 am, from Russell J. Boyle & Son Funeral Home, 331 Smith Street, Providence. A funeral service will be at 10:00 am, in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston, RI. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, February 10, 2016 from 4-7 pm.
