Charles M. Grando

Charles M. Grando, age 92, passed away July 8, 2019.

Born in Walsenburg, Co., to Marco and Mary Grando, who preceded him in death. Also preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary; brother, John; sister, Mary Pearce; sisters and brothers-in-law, Minnie and Charles Langowski and Janet and Charles Scancarello; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Jean and Oliver Cunico, Lawrence and Frances Cernoia, and Ralph Sacco.

Survived by daughters, Dianne Grando and Marlene Leatherwood; Sons, Mark (Grace) Grando and Charles (Tina) Grando; 11 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Vera and Denis Walters and Ann Sacco; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Charles was a veteran of WWII, after which he was employed by CF&I for nearly 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. But his greatest joy was the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, and the love they all shared.

Viewing is from 5:30-7:00 p.m., Friday, July 12, 2019 at Imperial Funeral Home. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 13, 2019 followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Stjernholm and staff, and Frontier Home Health and Hospice for the medical care and support they provided for Charles.

My Uncle Chuck was my favorite Uncle he was my mother's brother.He was the life of the party he was a sweet man always smiling and joking.You couldn't help but laugh when he was around. I will truly miss him ,I know that all that love him is with him in heaven and there is one heck of a party going on!All my love to him and my cousins.Love Lucy Scancarello

Uncle Chuck and Aunt Mary made a huge impact on our family. They were the solid, loving matriarchs who were there for you no matter what!
He always made us feel so loved and welcome when you walked in his door!
He and Aunt Mary always took time to visit, attending every party and event. He and Greg did a great job grilling steaks together at the pool parties in our back yard. I miss the old days, but I know we will all be together again one day.
God bless you Uncle Chuck. That you for loving all of your nieces and nephews so much! You will be missed 😪
