

TSGT George Franklin Williams, Jr. (retired), 72, passed away April 30, 2015, after a valiant battle with esophageal cancer. He was born February 12, 1943, in Pueblo. George was greeted in Heaven by his parents, George and Hope; brother, Robert; brothers-in-law, John Lafler and William Brooks; and numerous other relatives. Also met at the Rainbow Bridge by many beloved 4-legged family members. George married the love of his life, Mary Lafler, on May 2, 1964. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 51 years, Mary; son, George; daughter, Barbara (Will Lorimor); grandchildren, Harley and Michael; sisters-in-law, Frances Brooks, Rose (David) Arguello, Beverly (Bob) Courney, Annie Lafler; and numerous other relatives and friends. Also survived by Misty, Bubba, Lucky, CJ, and Rio. George proudly served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force from 1963 to 1983, stationed in England, Japan, Korea, Greece, San Angelo, and San Antonio. He retired in San Antonio. He was also a letter carrier for the US Postal Service for 13 years, retiring in 1998. George was a member of the Knights of Columbus 557, American Legion, VFW, USAFSS Roll Call, Air Force Association, and Freedom through Vigilance Association. George loved airplanes, science fiction, and all animals, especially wolves. He loved catching up with friends online. Special thanks to University Hospital Anschutz Cancer Center, Denver Fisher House, Frontier Home Healthcare, Dr. Nancy Chuch, and the physicians who cared for George.
