He was the oldest born October 31, 1951, in Hugoton, Kansas to Alvin and Frances Packard. He spent his early years keeping his ornery brothers and sister in line while helping on the family farm south of Springfield Colorado.
He married the love of his life, Jackie Lou Arbuthnot, on February 20, 1972. They had two daughters, Gwyneth Gaye and Alonna Kaye. They lived and worked his family farm and ranch until 2003 when they moved to Pueblo to be closer to their daughters and grandchildren. In Pueblo, he was a video rental sales clerk and landscaping company loader/operator. He retired in 2017 after he received a diagnosis of Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia.
He was survived by his wife, Jackie Packard; daughters, Gwyneth (Ryan) Howard and Alonna Packard; grandsons, Gavin and Colton Howard; parents, Alvin and Frances Packard; his siblings, Marvin (Linda) Packard, Oran Packard, David (Ada) Packard, Bonna (Curtis) Arbuthnot and Keith (Kristen) Packard; and many nieces and nephews. He was met at the gates of heaven by his granddaughter Amanda Mae Howard.
A funeral service for Leonard will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Imperial Funeral Home, 5450 Highway 78 West, Pueblo, Colorado 81005.
