Marolyn Newton, 78, passed away June 24th. She was the widow of Neal Newton the 2nd and they shared 35 years of marriage together. Born in Pueblo, Colorado on February 24, 1944, she was the daughter of John and Lily Chatham. Marolyn graduated from Centennial High School. She worked at home as an amazing wife, mother and later, the best grandmother there could be. She was a member of 1st Southern Baptist Church. When she wasn’t at church, she was outside playing in the dirt, hanging out with her rooster, watching the history channel, watching Nascar racing and going antique shopping. Marolyn will be remembered for doing her best with what she had, with Jesus beside her in everything she did and every step she took! She is survived by her children; son Neal and wife Kathy Newton, daughter Karri, and son Troy and wife Stella Newton. She also has 11 grandchildren: Nicole Longo Martinez, Kirsten Longo, Philadelphia and husband Josh Drefs-Whipple, Todd Richardson Jr and wife Ayla, Jesse and wife Amber Pistone, Josh and wife Abbey Petrisak, Brandon Newton, Dylan and wife Cristal Newton, Natalie and brother Nathan Newton. Marolyn also had 4 amazing great grandchildren; Landen Drefs-Whipple, Kayleigh Drefs-Whipple, and Addison Drefs-Whipple. Her newest and youngest great grandchild was Luka Petrisak. Marolyn is also survived by her sisters Barbara, Shirley and brother John and their families. She is also survived by her best friend Clair.
The viewing will be held on Friday, July 1st 2022 at Imperial Gardens, 5450 Hwy 78 W., Pueblo, Colorado between 4:00 and 8:00pm. Marolyn’s Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 2nd at First Southern Baptist Church in Penrose at 11:00am. The address is 722 N Broadway, Penrose, CO 81240.
