John grew up with his parents in a quiet neighborhood in Cleveland Ohio, until after high school when he enlisted and served 2 years in the United States Navy (1968-70-Grade, PNSN) and served as an assistant chaplain. His educational accomplishments include; 1991 completing his Bachelor of Arts from Eckerd College, and in 1997 completing his Masters of Arts from the University of South Florida. His occupations were; 5 years as a successful Relater in southwest Florida, 21 years as a beloved Teacher and Liaison at the Charlotte County Public schools. He retired in 2015. John and Tammie enjoyed traveling to visit their family in Ohio and Michigan. They would often deviate on the way to or from their Northern travels, stopping to enjoy the many Historic and Memorial cities along the way.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Tammie Lora Borenski of Punta Gorda, FL, Children; Curt Borensik of Plymouth, MI, Jeff (Lauren) Borenski of Willis, MI, Mark (Amy) Borensik of Plymouth, MI, Carrie (Richard) Terwellen of Westland, MI, Adam (Lisa) Borenski of Westland, MI, Erin (Thomas) Macalusa of Sparks, NV; grandchildren, Ryan, Alex, Gavin, Ava, Dakota, Madison, Jacob, Jaidin, Jack, Mitchell, Wyatt, Emma, Lucia, and Vito; great grandchild, Cayden.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm till 3:00pm, Sunday November 24 at the Kays-Ponger & Uselton Funeral Home, 635 E Marion Ave, Punta Gorda, FL. A Graveside Service with military honors will be held on Monday November 25th at 1:30pm at the Sarasota National Cemetery, 9810 State Rd 72, Sarasota, FL 34241.
