Susan Margaret Becton died peacefully in her sleep Jan. 25, 2023, at Canyon Trails Assisted Living & Memory Care in Canoga Park, CA. Born March 26,1944, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur Tull Becton and Margaret Lancaster Becton of Raleigh, NC.
A graduate of St. Mary’s School in Raleigh and the University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Susan was presented at the North Carolina Debutante Ball in 1962. She enjoyed a successful career in the advertising and motion picture industries, working as a production assistant on numerous full feature and television series projects.
A former member of Hayes Barton United Methodist Church in Raleigh, Susan was an active member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, CA until her 2018 residence at Canyon Trails.
Survivors include cousins, Debra Lawson Emmons of Raleigh, NC; Caroline Buffaloe Carroll of Sacramento, CA; Alice Buffaloe Holt of Jacksonville, FL; and Rebecca Buffaloe Bowers of Cartersville, GA.
Given Susan’s lifelong love of animals, memorials may be made to the ASPCA or your local humane society.
Funeral services are entrusted to Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's St., Raleigh, with burial at Raleigh Memorial Park.
