Tamara Holliday Poole

Tamara Louise Holliday Poole, 86, of Raleigh passed away Monday, April 5, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Tamara was born on October 7, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Harry W. and Mary Elizabeth Holliday.

In her youth she lived in Pittsburgh, PA and moved with her family to Rocky Mount, NC in the early 1950's. She graduated from Rocky Mount High School and attended Women's College in Greensboro ( now UNC Greensboro ). She resided in Raleigh since 1963. For many years she worked with her late husband, Bill Poole at his business, National Employment Services. She finished her work career as a legal secretary with Poyner & Spruill Law Firm.

Tamara loved spending time at the beach with her family making happy memories. She was an avid back yard bird watcher and especially enjoyed the hummingbirds. Needlework was a favorite past time and she stitched many gifts for her children. Tamara was a friend to all animals, large and small, and usually had several pets to spoil at all times.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, George William "Bill" Poole.

Tamara is survived by her four children; son, Shawn Poole ( Gigi ), daughter, Judy Blount ( Tim ), daughter, Holli Hemby ( James ), and son, Patrick Poole. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Joshua Blount, Will Poole, Mills Poole and Skyler Poole.

The family would like to thank Tamara's caregivers, Debra, Tiffany and Annie, for their loving and dedicated care.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 12 noon at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 South Wilmington St. Raleigh, NC. Those attending are asked to follow current CDC recommendations.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saving Grace Animals for Adoption Inc., 13400 Old Creedmoor Rd. Wake Forest, NC 27587, or the charity of one's choice.
