Thomas Underwood, formerly of Raleigh, NC, passed away peacefully at Foothills Presbyterian Retirement Community in Easley, SC on January 6, 2019.

He was born on April 17, 1925 to James and Bertha Underwood and was one of the Greatest Generation, fighting for his country across Europe during World War II with the 4th Infantry Division. For his service, Thomas was awarded the Purple heart and earned 5 battle stars.

Thomas was preceded in death by Wilma, his wife of 66 years in 2010.

He is survived by his three children, Rodney Underwood (Cindy) of Greenville, SC, Elaine U. Lynn (Lyndal) of Greenville, SC, and Sheila Bouillon of Wilson, NC; as well as three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two great-greatgrandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens in Raleigh, NC.
