Tommy was born in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina on September 21, 1950. He graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High School and continued on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree from Methodist College.
Tommy was the owner of Bob Melton’s Barbeque. He enjoyed outdoor activities, refereeing High School and College Soccer and was an avid lover of Beach Music.
Tommy is survived by his sister Patricia Smith Britt, son Cameron (Jessica) Smith and daughter Mary Lauren Smith along with 2 Grandchildren, Ashlynn and Brooklyn Smith, and other family and friends.
Tommy is preceded in death by Clifton and Alease Smith, and his brother in law, Jim Britt.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be given to Hospice of Wake County.
