Gail was born in Tacoma Park, Maryland on January 28, 1948 to parents Ray R. and Gladys E. (McNall) Holsinger. Gail grew up in Silver Spring, Maryland and was a long time resident of Randolph, Ohio. Following her husband’s retirement in 2002, Bob and Gail began wintering in Lake Helen, Florida. She enjoyed spending her time between Florida, Pennsylvania, and Ohio.
Gail was a homemaker who loved her family and was a proud and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Gail was a very faith-driven person and she lived her life serving the Lord. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She loved socializing with all of her friends and attending ladies’ luncheons.
In life, Gail was a transplant recipient, receiving a kidney donated by her sister Sharon Smith, 22 years ago. Organ donation was very important to her. In death, Gail was also a donor and was able to save another life with her liver. She now has an ornament to display her gift on the Tree of Life at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida.
Gail is survived by her treasured children: Bonnie (Dennis) Rothermel and Heidi (Jason) Yasment. Gail’s memory will always be cherished by her grandchildren Lexi & Hunter Rothermel, Dylan Slaughter & Gavin Yasment. She also leaves her beloved mother Gladys Holsinger and her siblings: James (Laurene) Holsinger, Daniel (Pamela) Holsinger, Sharon (Mitch) Smith, her brother-in-law Jim Thorpe, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Gail was preceded in death by her husband Robert D. “Bob” Mantzell, her father Ray R. Holsinger, and her sister Sandra K.Thorpe.
