Crysta L. Franklin, age 55, of Reading, PA entered eternal rest Thursday, July 30, 2020, at Hershey Medical Center surrounded by her loving family after a valiant battle, against Neuromyelitis optica. Born October 31, 1964, in Great Falls, Montana, Crysta was the cherished daughter of the late Charles Robert Franklin Jr. and Lorraine Marion (Coad) Franklin.
Crysta was a spiritual and godly woman who loved the Lord. Her unwavering faith in Jesus, enriched her spirit and aided her as she triumphed against several surgeries and treatments. After every battle she grew more steadfast in her commitment to life; the illness may have taken over her body, but it never even got close to touching her soul.
Crysta was a beautifully strong woman; she had a heart too big to describe. All who were blessed to know her recognized that her kindness, wit, and truly compassionate nature, were beyond measure. Her love for life was matched by her intelligence; she spoke several languages proficiently, including Spanish, Patois and Nolof. She had a knack for learning new languages and often said that 'Language was music to her ears'. Crysta was a freethinking, free-spirited warm-hearted person, who was always the life of the party. She never held a grudge and was always quick to forgive. You could count on everything she did
because she did everything out of love. Our dear Crysta was in a word: Lovely.
Crysta will be most remembered for her genial spirit and nature, her contagious smile that brightened any room, and paramount cooking skills. Those who savored her notable Curry chicken and Yassa know of its indescribable goodness. Above all, Crysta's greatest joy and love was her family. Her grandchildren were her heartbeat and she deeply adored her daughter Vonteiz.
Crysta’s spirit will be carried on by her beloved daughter Vonteiz Franklin, of Reading; sisters Joi Franklin and her partner Stanley, of Reading, sister Angela Franklin, of Georgia, sister Nirvana Franklin, of Harrisburg; sister Chauntez Venable, of Lancaster, PA; and special daughters Jen Rodriguez & Lisha Williams. Crysta also leaves behind 2 nieces; Aries Franklin-Ortiz, Armani Franklin; 5 nephews Alexander Franklin, Darius Franklin, Damian Lockett, Bernard 'lil Bernie' Franklin, Andre Hawkins; 6 grandchildren Mekhai, Heaven'Li, Josiah, Elijah, Ezrah, August Crystaphor; great niece Zara Franklin and a host of cousins, aunt, uncles and friends from every walk of life to cherish her memory.
In addition to her parents, Crysta was greeted in heaven by her dear daughter Cian F. Franklin.
