OBITUARY
Frederick L. Bliesath
October 7, 1927 – October 31, 2012
Frederick L. “Fred” Bliesath, 85, of Exeter Twp., passed away at home on Wednesday, October 31, 2012 with his family by his side. He was the loving husband of Irene E. (Althouse) Bliesath, whom he married on February 16, 1952. The couple shared 60 years of marriage.
Fred was born in Reading on October 7, 1927; he was a son of the late Frederick O. and Dorothy J. (Ulrich) Bliesath. He was member of the former St. Stephen’s Reformed Church, Reading.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army on December 11, 1945 and served as a Corporal in the 20th Weather Squadron. After being honorably discharge, he re-enlisted and served in the U.S. Air Force as a Weather Observer in Japan.
Fred was employed with the former Wetterau Foods as a warehouse man for 10 years and before that, Bethlehem Steel as a riveter for 20 years. He was a member of the Neversink Gun Club, Gibraltar Fire Co., Reiffton Fire Co. and VFW Birdsboro Memorial Post #411.
Surviving are two daughters, Cynthia F. Fitzsimmons of Reading and Lesley C. Koch and her husband, Jeffrey of Exeter Twp.; five grandchildren, Kenneth, Vanessa, Nathan, Heather and Ashley; and two great grandchildren, Quinn and Christian. Also surviving are a brother, Jack D. Bliesath; three sisters, Mildred “Betty” Milligan, Laura Guziak and Joan Melnyczenko and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by two brothers, Marvin and Robert Bliesath and a sister, Dorothy Lane.
A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at Auman’s Inc., Funeral Home, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reiffton. Friends will be received on Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:30 to 12:30pm. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
