Leonard Paul Zahurak

Leonard Paul Zahurak 85, of Reading passed away Sunday March 11, 2018 in Manor Care Sinking Spring. His loving wife Carolyn E (Seidel) Zahurak passed away February 18, 2006. He was born in Lebabon, PA on December 6, 1932 a son of the late John J Sr and Suzanna (Janicko) Zahurak.

Leonard was a 1951 Lebanon High School graduate and he attended Albright College for 2 years where he was the center for Albright College Football. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, he especially enjoyed fly fishing. Leonard was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict for 4 years some duties included Aviation Electronics Technician which is responsible for maintenance of radars, avionics and navigation. Leonard was a member of St Francis de Sales Church and was employed by Western Electric as a departmental technician for over 30 years retiring there.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-law , wife of Joseph Zahurak. Leonard was predeceased by his siblings; John J Zahurak Jr., Stephan A Zahurak, Elizabeth Zahurak, Bartholemew A Zahurak, Irene Zahurak, and Joseph P Zahurak.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday March 15, 2018 at 10:30am in St Francis de Sales Church, 330 N Church St., Robesonia, PA 19551. Burial to follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be Thursday 9-10:15am in the church. Theo C Auman Funeral Home, Reading is honored to serve the family. www.theocauman.com
