Glen Allen Steczek

November 2, 1962February 5, 2021

Glen Allen Steczek was born in Redford Township, Michigan on November 2, 1962 to Walter and Rose Marie Steczek. He was one of four children. Glen passed away suddenly in his Detroit, Michigan home on February 5, 2021 at the age of 58. Glen is survived by his brother Dean (The late Mary) Steczek; his sister Genevieve "Sis" Steczek; his brother in law, Daniel Christine; his nephews Michael (Beth) Steczek and Christopher Steczek; Great-nieces Tayla, Alaina, Lila and great nephew, Ethan.

He will also be missed by his four-legged friend, Quincy the dog.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother Paul.

Glen was extremely intelligent and had an engineer's mind. He had a successful career in the auto-parts industry and owned a video store. He absolutely loved going to concerts with his family and friends. It has been estimated that he saw well over 100 concerts. His all-time favorite band was the Who. He also enjoyed stage shows. Glen and his sister went to see "Jesus Christ Super Star" 16 times and it never got old. Glen was a natural caregiver and gently cared for his mother until her passing in 2016. He then cared for his father until his passing on December 28, 2020, just 39 days prior to Glen's death. Glen was known to be extremely kind and gentle to everyone he encountered. He always saw the good in people. Even if someone was a difficult person, Glen always found something kind to say about him or her.

The broken hearts of Glen's family will miss him so very deeply.

Glen was always the kindest soul. Forever willing to go the extra mile when it came to working and helping others. Never let anyone walk by without giving them a smile and a hello. I know he is in heaven smiling down on all of us.

You will truly be missed,

Taylor, Jim and Chance

Glen was one of the kindest souls around. He never hesitated to offer a helping hand. While working with Glen and caring for my Mom, I happened to mention in conversation with Glen that she had a taste for ham hocks and cabbage but that I was having a hard time finding the ham hocks. The next day here comes Glen with a package of ham hocks in hand. That’s the caring, kind, and gentle kind of man he was. Rest In Peace, Glen. Your kindness will always be remembered.

May your light always shine.

I am so grateful that I was given the chance to meet Glen, to get to know him and to call him 'Brother'. He enlightened everyone's life, and that makes the sorrow and pain of his passing even greater. The news of his loss came as a shock to me. I do understand what it feels like to experience the loss of a brother. My deepest, heartfelt condolences go out to all who love Glen... Peace be with you. May he rest in angels arms. XOXO
