She was the wife of the late Richard W. Slimmer. Born on September 28, 1937 in Lebanon, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Ney) Gould.
She worked hard her whole life, sometimes working two jobs at the same time, including cleaning for other people, while raising her family and helping with other family members. She last worked as a Sexton for St. Luke’s Lutheran Church until her retirement and was a member of the church for over 60 years. She enjoyed going to casinos, gardening, setting up at flea markets and doing yard sales on her front porch. She loved all animals and had numerous pets including dogs, cats, birds and fish.
Survivors: Her loving sons: Richard B. and wife, Nancy, of Allentown, Dennis W. and fiancé, Patty, of Stouchsburg, Michael L. of Reading, Randy E. and wife, Brenda, of Wildwood, MO, David A. and wife, Margret, of Greenwood, SC, and Brian M. and girlfriend, Jodi, of Reading. Twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild on the way; many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by a brother, Allen Gould, Sr. of Reading.
She was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers: Anna Mae Weidman, Jean Weidman, Thelma Shupp/Ferara, Robert Gould and Larry Gould.
Services: Calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 9th, at Auman’s Inc. Home, 390 West Neversink Road, Reading, PA 19606. Memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM with interment to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Park across the road from the funeral home.
Contributions: In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
