IN THE CARE OF
Greenwood Memorial Park & Funeral Home
Donna Mae Bracken (Sloan) passed away peacefully at her home in Bothell on Tuesday, May 10. Her family had met for a final mother's day celebration with her on Sunday.
Donna was born in 1931 in Berthoud, Colorado. The third of six children born to Elmer Sloan and Zylpha Skinner Sloan. She came to Seattle at age ten and made it her permanent home. She attended Franklin High School.
Donna married Lyle Bracken when she was 17 and had three daughters; Evelyn (Mercier), Helen (Gauthier), and Marilyn (Kritzer). Also, a stepson Ron Moore. She has six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Donna and our dad travelled extensively in their RV, packing up and driving around the country on many occasions for more than a year at a time. They would return briefly, share their stories and head out again. After Lyle's passing in 2004 she married Lyle Myers, our beloved stepdad. He also preceded her in death.
At 91 years she remained a go getter and never wavered in her joy of creating. She painted, decorated beautiful cakes, and most noted for her gorgeous hand stitched quilts. She loved family history and enjoyed sharing genealogical information and stories with her grandson, Zach.
