Joel is survived by his daughter Joellyn (Jon), son Darren (Angela), two granddaughters, Corina and Blake and one great grandson, Carsen.
For anyone who new Joel, he was a man of great wit, sense of humor, and generous. Joel was always there to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. He also took great care of his wife, Carolyn during her illness with ALS.
Joel was known as a hard worker. He was a meat cutter for Rath, then became a longshoreman working at the port of Seattle, eventually retiring as a foreman for Seattle Stevadoring Services of America in June 1997.
Joel as a younger man enjoyed camping with family which involved a lot of trout fishing along the American and Bumping rivers in the Natches area. Joel enjoyed his classic cars, as well as riding his bicycle, working on his property, and going to breakfast with his children, Darren and Joellyn.
Joel married his wife, Carolyn, on September 2, 1955. They built a home in the early 1960’s in Briarwood where they had many friends. Then in the mid 1970’s him and Carolyn built the home in Maple Valley which is where he resided for the rest of his life.
Dad loved his family and is now at peace. Goodbye, Dad. Thank you for all of your wisdom and love. You will always be in our hearts.
