Beth was born October 20, 1928, in Yoder Wyoming, the youngest of Elmer and Mary (Oberg) Leep’s four children.
She left Wyoming as a teenager to live with her sister, Flossie, in Washington. After graduating from Renton High School in 1947, Beth worked at the Renton Theater where she met Elroy Gullingsrud. They married in 1949 and were blessed to share a good life together for 68 years.
Beth was a dedicated Christian and her life was all about home and family. She was an excellent homemaker, loyal wife and devoted mother of four children. She loved Elroy’s extended family as much as her own. Holidays meant lots of family and lots of good food! She was a wonderful hostess.
Beth and Elroy enjoyed the outdoors and an active lifestyle. There was no shortage of family fun and good times including boating, skiing, camping and fishing. So many times Beth came home with the biggest salmon!
Beth gladly accepted an offer to do a little bookkeeping at home for a newly forming water district. As the district grew, her job developed into a 20-year career that she truly enjoyed until retirement at age 57.
With Elroy also retired, the couple began fine-tuning their mutual love of traveling by joining the Airstream Club and exploring the country. Eventually their adventures led them to Arizona where they settled into the snowbird life with a beautiful winter home, a great church and many wonderful friendships.
Beth was a kind and gentle spirit. She will be lovingly remembered by many, many friends and especially by her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her children, Herb (Carol), Karen, Ken (Cindy), Bruce (Tricia); her grandchildren, Angie, Joel, Eric (Savannah), Jonny, Josh (Lindsay), Tyler (Lindsay), Justin (Allison); eight great-grandchildren; and many extended family members.
A private interment was held Monday April 13, 2020, at Greenwood Memorial Park.
A memorial will be held when family and friends can safely join together.
