A long time Dallas resident, he died peacefully in the comfort of his own home. He was reunited with his wife and soulmate Catalina Puga to whom he was married for 72 wonderful years. There was no one like Ysabel Puga. He was loved by all who knew him and greatly admired for his strong Catholic faith. He served in the U.S. Army’s infantry division in World War II, enjoyed playing the saxophone in his earlier years and worked several jobs in his lifetime. He worked the majority of his years as a dental technician and retired as a maintenance technician. Most of all, Ysabel loved his family and looked forward to Sunday gatherings at his house.
Ysabel is predeceased by his wife Catalina Puga. Survived by his son Ysabel Puga Jr.; his daughters Alda Johnson; Priscilla Nelson; and Cynthia Spears (Ron); his grandsons Terry Nelson II (Amanda), Sheldon Puga (Elizabeth), Frankie Torres (Angela), Michael Nelson (Clarissa), Johnathan Johnson (Vanessa), his granddaughters Angela Gilmore (Chris), and Jessica Torres, his great grandsons Tyler, Edward, Jacob, Trae, Jesus, Julien, Michael Jr., Geremy, and Gabriel, his great granddaughters Hope, Skylar, Adriana, Ava, Amy, Melina, Gazmine, Ari, and Elani, and his great, great granddaughters Charlotte Rose and Arabella Catalina.
Viewing and Rosary for Ysabel will be held Friday , September 15, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sparkman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1029 South Greenville Ave, Richardson, TX 75081. Mass and Burial service will occur Saturday , September 16, 2023 at 10 AM at Calvary Hill Funeral Home, 3235 Lombardy Ln, Dallas, TX 75220.
