

Bernard Lee Neely, Sr. of Midlothian, VA passed away peacefully surrounded by family during his favorite holiday season on December 16, 2019. Preceded in death by Donna Faye Neely who is the mother of Bernard Neely, Jr. and Tracy Aird; parents Hallie and Dewey Neely; daughter Stephanie Leigh Neely; and niece Sherry Reip.
Survived by his children; son Bernard Lee Neely, Jr. of Midlothian, VA; daughter Tracy Aird and her husband, Peter of Midlothian, VA; daughter Cynthia Neely and partner Chuck of Leland, NC; three sisters Dawn Bailey and partner Gus of North Olmsted, OH; Datha McCrae and husband Michael of Ogden, UT; and Dreama Reip of Ogden, UT; Eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Bernard was born in Princeton, WV and has resided in Midlothian, VA for over ten years. At the age of seventeen, Bernard volunteered for the Draft to serve his country in the Army where he served in Korea and Vietnam. Following his service, Bernard was the owner of Kook-ie Man Bakery in Texas and was the Founder of Coffee Chat, a non-profit organization for singles over the age of fifty-five with more than two hundred and fifty registered members who meet every Saturday from 11:00-1:00pm at Winfree Memorial Baptist Church of Midlothian for coffee and friendship. Bernard was loved by many and had lots of friends.
Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:30am; Winfree Memorial Baptist Church located at 13617 Midlothian Trpk.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to be made to one of Bernard’s favorite organizations: Coffee Chat (Madeline Gazzo, 3901 Price Club Blvd. Apt. #205 Midlothian, VA 23112; Disabled American Veterans (Dav.org); or the American Heart Association (Heart.org).
