She was preceded in death by her husband, Oakey Bower, her mother and father, Joe and Ethel Griffith, her siblings, Bob, Jim, Oakie, Betty and Patty. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joe Bower, Jeff Bower, Rebecca Salmon and her husband Mike; grandchildren, Josh Bower and his wife Allyson, Joseph Bower, Tiffany Bridgewater and her husband Clifton, Granton Austin and Gamble Austin; great-grandchildren, Autumn Bower, Juliette Bower, Paisley Bower and Turner Bridgewater; and numerous extended family members and friends.
Margie was a member of West End Assembly of God. She liked outdoor activities like fishing and parks, she enjoyed being with her family more than anything and her grandchildren meant the world to her. Margie never missed the opportunity to watch her children and grandchildren's sporting events, nor did she ever miss a school activity.
A visitation for Margie will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Nelsen Funeral Home, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231. A funeral service will occur Monday, October 18, 2021 at 12:00 PM, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Virginia 23231. An interment will occur Monday, October 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Drive, Sandston, Virginia 23150.
