June Gullette Nolen

June Gullette Nolen, age 80, passed peacefully from this earth on Friday November 22, 2019. June was born in Houston, Mississippi the daughter of Samuel C. Gullette and Ida Lou Holland Gullette. She grew up in Mantee, Mississippi and graduated from Cumberland High School and Mississippi College where she received her degree in elementary education. She then furthered her education by receiving her Certification in Medical Technology from the Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She married Thomas G. Nolen and they moved to California for a short time while he was in the Navy. They returned to Mantee where they raised their children and June continued her work in various hospitals. During this time she and her husband were active in mission trips both nationally and internationally. In their retirement years they were active in the Mississippi Baptist -Ukraine partnership which led them to live in the country of Ukraine for four years. They settled in Madison, Mississippi and continued to train and take mission teams to Ukraine for nine more years. She was preceded in death by her son Thomas Samuel Nolen. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Thomas G. Nolen, her brother Samuel F. Gullette, one daughter, Julie Barnett (Jeff), one grandson, Ben Barnett (Amanda), one granddaughter, Beth Pitts (Colby), and one great grandson, Nolen Barnett. Visitation will be 4-5:30 pm Sunday November 24, 2019 at Broadmoor Baptist Church Chapel in Madison, Mississippi and 9-10 am Monday November 25, 2019 preceding the Funeral Service at 10:00am. A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00pm Monday at the Mantee Baptist Church in Mantee, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers , expressions of sympathy can be made to the American - Ukrainian Evangelical Fellowship benefiting Odessa Seminary (AUEF, 1526 14th Ave, Franklinton, LA 70438) or the ILG Mission Fund at Mantee Baptist Church.
