Melba Jeanne Voorheis

Melba “Jeanne” Voorheis, age 89, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at her home in Norco, CA surrounded by family. Jeanne was born on November 25, 1928 in Los Angeles, CA to Jack and Melba Dunn. Jeanne grew up in Los Angeles, CA and was a 1947 graduate of Hollywood High School. She married Joe Voorheis in 1949 and had 5 children, Jeff Voorheis (Stacey), Dennis Voorheis (Suzy), Gary Voorheis, Lorelei Morse (Dave), Andy Voorheis (Shayne). Jeanne’s family moved to Norco in 1968. She had 10 grandchildren: Michelle, Heidi, Joey, Justin, Derek, Grace, Luke, Andrew, Hannah, Chance and 5 great grandchildren.

Jeanne spent 50 years of her life in Norco, CA where she and her children raised goats, pigs and chickens. Her love for sewing through the years made her a regular at local craft fairs. She was a kind, sweet soul who will be missed dearly. Jeanne is preceded in death by her only brother Ed Dunn.

Visitation Services will be held on Monday November 12, 2018 from 4:00 to 8:00pm at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary. Graveside Services will be on Tuesday November 13, 2018 at 10:00am at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park. A reception to follow will be at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Mortuary Reception Hall following the graveside service from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
