Elda Meryl Jenkins

JENKINS, Elda “Meryl”, age 95 of Loudon, Tennessee, formally of Rochester Hills passed away on June 13, 2018. Meryl was born on June 10, 1923 in Spring Bay Ontario Canada on her beloved Manitoulin Island to the late Walter and Irene Galbraith (Patenaude). She graduated from Pontiac High School in 1942. Meryl was the former owner of Four Korners Restaurant in Pontiac and was there from 1942 to 1972. After selling Four Korners she worked at Patrick’s Shillelagh in Auburn Hills for 17 years before retiring. The beloved wife of the late Gilbert Jenkins, she was also preceded in death by sister Doreen Galbraith, brother Eldon Galbraith and step father Leo Patenaude. Meryl is survived by her children Sharon (Ken) Ryan of Tennessee and Edward (Karen) Parrett of Rochester Hills; three grandchildren, Michael (Allison) Ryan and Tracy (Daniel) Weiss both of Georgia, and Tracy Compagnari of Mississippi; four great grandsons Mason, Seth, Carter and Justin. Also survived by a brother Keith (Donna) Galbraith of Florida and step-sister Shirley Mueller of Auburn Hills. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 18, 2018, 11 a.m. at Pixley Funeral Home, 322 W. University Drive, Rochester. The family will receive friends Monday from 10 am until time of service.
