Beverly Jean Whewell, a beloved member of the Brevard, Florida community, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the age of 96. She was born on June 15, 1927, in New Haven, Connecticut, and brought warmth and kindness to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In 1979, Beverly made her way to Brevard from Maryland, where she would go on to touch the lives of many in her new home. For over two decades, she dedicated her talents as a manager in the catalog department at Sears, where she served the community with diligence and a friendly smile.
Beverly was an active member of the Red Hats Society, finding joy and camaraderie among its members. She also found solace and purpose within the Presbyterian Church, where her faith and sense of community were deeply cherished.
Preceding her in passing were her loving husband, Robert Whewell, her dear sister, Patricia Scott, and her cherished grandson, Timothy Rodey. Their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved Beverly.
Beverly's legacy lives on through her devoted family, including her children Bruce Whewell (Trudy), Barbara Rodey (Marty), Linda McDaniel (Mark), and Larry Whewell (Jamie). She was a cherished grandmother to ten grandchildren and a doting great-grandmother to twenty-one great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward the love and lessons she bestowed upon them.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude's Children Hospital in memory of Beverly Whewell. These causes were dear to her heart, and contributions in her honor will continue to make a positive impact on those in need.
Beverly's memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love will be remembered and celebrated for generations to come. May she rest in peace, her legacy forever alive in the hearts of her family and friends.
