Lucille Anne Kelliher
December 13, 1939 – December 2, 2018
Lucille Anne Kelliher (nee Berkich) of Melbourne, Florida passed away at the age of 78 on December 2, 2018. Lucille was born in Waukesha, Wisconsin and lived there for 43 years before moving to Florida in 1982.
Lucille was a kind and gentle person who was deeply committed to her family. She was especially proud of her grandchildren that were the pride and joy of her life and who referred to her fondly as “Best GMa Ever”! We believe that the world may be a better place because she was so important in the lives of her grandchildren – a significant accomplishment in the big picture of life. She had a kind heart and a generous spirit that will be sorely missed by all those who knew and loved her. She was also extremely proud of her volunteer work at Viera Hospital where she accumulated over 500 hours of service. Her indomitable spirit encouraged her family and friends to persist in the face of many struggles. While we may cry and feel empty by her loss we also know that she would want us to smile, open our hearts, love each other, and go on in her cherished memory.
Lucille is survived by her two sons, Scott Kelliher (Blanca) and Joseph Kelliher; five grandchildren, Ryan Kelliher, Sarah Kelliher, Lauren Kelliher, Natalie Kelliher, and Brooke Kelliher; brother John Berkich, and sister Fran Thuman. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 AM on Friday December 7 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent in Lucille’s name to Candlelighters of Brevard or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, Florida is serving the family. Please visit https://www.dignitymemorial.com/funeral-homes/rockledge-fl/life-event-center-at-florida-memorial/4467 to view the online obituary or leave condolences. Lucille will be laid to rest there beside her husband, Charles Kelliher whom she has greatly missed since his passing in 2005.
The family would like to especially thank the staff at Hospice of Health First at Cape Canaveral Hospital for their wonderful and compassionate care, kindness and thoughtfulness during Lucille’s final days.
