Keith Bowman “Stony” Stonerock, beloved father, brother, and long-time resident of New Orleans, passed away on December 10, 2023, at the age of 87, after a long battle with dementia in Bentonville, Arkansas. Born on August 13, 1936, in Hodge, Louisiana, Keith led a remarkable life filled with diverse experiences and a passion for various pursuits.
Keith was the son of Gladys and Samuel Stonerock, and he is survived by his two sons, Sean K. Stonerock and Dakota Q. Stonerock, as well as his sisters, Jane Stonerock Vines and Lela Stonerock Yarbrough.
Keith's educational journey took him to Louisiana Tech in Ruston, LA and Southwest Assemblies of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, where he laid the foundation for a life marked by learning and spiritual growth.
Throughout his professional career, Keith wore many hats. He began as an evangelist for the Lord. Preaching and embracing the role of spreading faith through the word of God, and impacting the lives of those around him. Later, sharing his one of a kind voice and lively personality, as a radio announcer. His journey also led him to the oil business, where he excelled and became a respected figure.
A long-time resident of the vibrant city of New Orleans, Keith immersed himself in the world of oil field sales for 30 years, leaving an indelible mark on the industry and the community he called home.
For many years, Keith was a dedicated employee of Walmart corporate security in Bentonville, Arkansas, contributing his skills and commitment to ensuring the safety of the company.
Keith was a man of diverse interests and talents. He had a love for flying, taking to the skies as a private pilot with a spirit of adventure. Golfing brought him joy and relaxation, and his fascination with astronomy allowed him to appreciate the vastness of the universe. Additionally, Keith enjoyed connecting with others through Ham radio, fostering friendships and sharing his great sense of humor.
Beyond his professional achievements and hobbies, Keith Stonerock will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the genuine connections he forged throughout his life. His legacy lives on through the memories shared by family and friends.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate the life of Keith Bowman “Stony” Stonerock at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Keith's honor.
