Ronald Dean Nichols, 77, of Rogers passed away Friday, September 25, 2020. He was born October 15, 1942 in Columbia, Missouri to Euen Nichols and Opal Nichols. Following High School he proudly served in the US Army. While home on leave he met the love of his life, Dora, and after 3 dates they eloped, got married and recently celebrated their 55th anniversary. Ronald was a 3rd generation painter and for 40 years a contractor who taught his children the value of work by having them involved in the business from an early age. He became a Christian at 18 and lived his life to be an example to others. He was preceded by his father, Ewen Nichols; his mother, Opal Dale and grandparents, Minnie and Emerson Lichtenthaler. Survivors include his adoring wife, Dora Nichols; his 2nd mother, Mildred Nichols of Waverly, Missouri; 2 sons, Nick Nichols of Bentonville and Nathan Nichols of Fayetteville; a daughter, Leslie Jurgensmeyer of Rogers; a brother, Wayne Nichols of Warrensburg, Missouri; a sister, Carla Schubach of Carrollton, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Elizabeth and Mackenzie Nichols, Courtney Harris, Anna Bagby, Natalie Price, Ashley Porter, Grant Price, Ben, David, Colby, Zachary and Timothy Nichols; by 5 great-grandchildren, numerous extended family members and dear friends. Services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 with Visitation beginning at 1:00 and his Funeral at 2:00 in the Chapel of Rollins Funeral Home in Rogers. Interment will be in Oak Grove cemetery.
