Emmaline N. Astin

Mrs. Emmaline Norton Astin, age 86, of Rome, passed away at a local health care facility on Friday, August 2, 2013.
Mrs. Astin was born in Atlanta, Georgia on May 5, 1927, daughter of the late Otho Ross Norton and Ethel Aurilla Harris Norton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Carlton Astin, Jr., to whom she was married 59 years ago on January 3, 1947; and by three sisters, Mary Lou Griffin, Gladys Norton and Betty Cox.
Mrs. Astin ws a member of West Rome Baptist Church since 1963. She was a loving mother, wife, and homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Calvin Carlton (Tripp) Astin III and his wife Terri S. Astin of Kingston; one daughter, Pamela Emmaline Ragan and her husband Steven Allen Ragan of Mooresville, NC; and three grandchildren, Jennifer Eckols, Amy McDowell and Carrington Astin.
Mrs. Astin's family received friends on Monday evening, August 5, 2013, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at Daniel's Funeral Home. A funeral service was held on Tuesday morning, August 6, 2013, at 11:00 am in the Griffin Memorial Chapel of Daniel's Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Draper officiating. Interment followed at West View Cemetery, 1680 Ralph Abernathy Blvd., Atlanta, GA 30310.
