Donald Moll, 88, of Roswell, GA graduated to be with the Lord on Sunday February 16th, 2014 at St. George Village where he has resided for the past 8 years. Donald is survived by his wife of 65 years Jean Oliver Moll, one son Douglas (wife Pam) of Pisgah Forest, NC and one daughter Jean Ann Johnson (husband Roderick) of Grand Rapids, MI., 5 grandsons and 5 great grandchildren all of Grand Rapids, Mi. He is also survived by two half sisters Jackie Phelps and Janice Gillmore of Minnesota.
Donald was born in Duluth, MN on November 28, 1925 and was an honor graduate of Cloquet High School, Cloquet, MN. In his youth he enjoyed playing ice hockey, was a member of Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. Donald served in the military with the United States Air Force and attended the University of Minnesota graduating Cum Laude receiving a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering. Donald married his wife Jean Oliver of Baltimore MD in 1949 and worked over 40 years as a professional engineer. His employment included Minnesota Power and Light, Mead Corporation, and retired from work from Kimberly Clark in Roswell. Don was very civic minded and served his community as a volunteer. He volunteered at North Fulton Hospital in many different capacities. He was active in community affairs such as Boy Scouts, Senior Scouting, President of Boy’s Club of America, Civitan, Elks, and Lions Club. He was also a master bridge player and a 6 handicap golfer and belonged to the Neenah, WI Yacht Club. In addition Don was also very active in his local church as a lay reader, spiritual director and pastoral care. He helped organize the Brotherhood of St. Andrew at St. Peter and St. Paul Church in Cobb County and was a life member.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Roswell Funeral Home. Services will be conducted on Thursday, February 20th at 10 am at Northbrook United Methodist Church with Reverend H. Johnson officiating. A reception will follow the memorial service at the church. Burial will be held on Friday, February 21st at 11 am at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
