

Obituary for Lucille Mallory Tampa Bay Times edition on Sunday, July 9, 2017 Lucille Mallory, 84, of Sun City Center, FL passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2017. After spending two years in Morocco, Africa where her two daughters were born, she returned to Indiana to start her life-long teaching career. She was a graduate of Purdue University and taught Home Economics at Penn High School in the 1960’s. She then returned to Purdue where she taught and supervised student teachers in Home Economics as an Assistant Professor. She married Herschell “Hook” Mallory (deceased) in 1981 and they retired to FL in 1984. She is survived by her daughters, Lou Ann Porter, Michigan City, IN and Shelly Oakes (Neal), Riverview, FL; son, Jeffrey Frick (Cathy), Edwardsburg, MI; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and sisters Ann Walz (Tom), Cape Elizabeth, ME, and Kathryn Huddleston (Jack), North Liberty, IN. Siblings Genny, Earl, Duwaine, Gene, and Maurice predeceased her. A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, 1210 Del Webb Blvd. W. on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation by National Cremation Society. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The American Cancer Society. While living in Sun City Center since 1998, she was actively involved in the United Methodist Church of Sun City Center, singing in the Chancel Choir and Grace Notes. She taught Fitness & Aquatic classes at Kings Point for 17 years and served as a dispatcher for the Emergency Squad, Team 8, for 15 years. As a legacy to her family, she sponsored a cruise to the Eastern Caribbean in 2014 for 17 members of her family.
