Born in Vourvoura, Greece, January 6, 1920, passed away in his sleep with his wife Niki at his side in Roseville, February 14, 2013 at the age of 93 years. He was a member of the Roseville community for more than 60 years, where he had migrated to from his homeland to work for Pacific Fruit Express as a Railroad Serviceman for 27 years. He was a loving, kind-hearted man who loved life and his twin granddaughters. He was a devoted member of the Peloponnesian Society and the entire Greek Community. In his early years 60s, 70s and 80s he utilized his socializing skills throughout the Greek Kafenion (local cafes) circuit to further develop his friendships. He was an avid cook who was well-known for his Stifatho (Greek stew). He also enjoyed his fresh vegetables from his garden (Greek bragging rights) and his homemade wine that put hair on a number of chests. He is survived by his wife of 51 years Niki Callas; son, Peter Callas and wife Sophia; twin granddaughters, Nikoletta and Theodora. Friends are invited to attend a Trisagion Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 6:00 P.M. at Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger, 5401 Folsom Blvd. and are invited to attend Funeral Services Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Anna Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 Stone Canyon Dr., Roseville. Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, 4300 Folsom Blvd., Sacramento. The family requests that donations in memory of Paul Callas be made to the Saint Anna Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 Stone Canyon Drive, Roseville, CA 95661.
