Priscilla Board passed into God's hands on January 13, 2011 at Windsor El Camino nursing home in Carmichael, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband James Board and daughter Mary Ann Board and is survived by her two sons Arthur and James Board, as well as four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Priscilla was born on October 7, 1917 to John and Inez French in Norwood, Massachusetts. She spent much of her girlhood being raised in Augusta, Maine. Her fondest memories were of growing up in the beautiful natural wonderland of Maine. She even enjoyed the long and bitter winters and loved to ski to school. She graduated with honors from Coney High School in Augusta, Maine and then went on to nursing school in Lewiston. She and her sister Marjorie graduated as registered nurses shortly before the start of World War II and then entered the army nursing corps after the United States entered the war. They were sent to England to serve in a US army hospital and continued duty there until the German surrender in May, 1945. While in England during her service, she met James Board of Lodi, California. After a short courtship they married in England on January 17, 1945. After the war, they settled in Sacramento where James entered the insurance business. They soon had two young sons to raise, Arthur born in 1945 and James in 1948. Their union was blessed with a daughter, Mary Ann, born in 1956. In addition to being a wonderful wife and mother, Priscilla was an active member of the Sierra Arden United Church of Christ, participated in volunteer activities in the Sacramento area, and was very involved with the PEO women's educational organization. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A memorial service will be held for her at 1 PM on Friday, January 28 at Nauman and Sons Funeral Home, 4041 Freeport Blvd. in Sacramento
