2010 - July- It was Calvin that encouraged me to continue coming back to visit at Saint Andrew’s.
He sat beside me that very first day in The overflow area of the church. When I came back the second Sunday .. he sat beside me again.
Each time, after sinking with our congregation he would shake my hand after sitting back down. He told me that I had a great singing voice and it blessed his heart to hear me sing -while wiping tears from his eyes. It touched my heart to see him so moved. He later found out I could play piano and encouraged me to play a song for him after one service. I did. Again , with tears in his eyes, told me how touched he was to hear a song he loved , on the piano, in a way he’d never heard before. I am so blessed to have Calvin always encouraging me for many years afterwards. He had zero idea that day- the first day - or second and so on -what battles I continually face in regard to my musical offering for the Lord and how I can ever again give back my skills to “ the church” for the Master,. For in 2010 I had just left the music ministry after most of my adult life , since I was 17 years old actually— with no where to be of service in my foreseeable future.. I still wonder , but I’ve tried with Calvin’s encouragement , along with others.. . Thank you Calvin , my dear friend, for reaching out that first Sunday and many times afterward to keep my heart encouraged without possibly knowing you were doing so. This is the first time I’ve ever shared this story anytime and it needed to be told - for those that can reach out and encourage someone without knowing so —continue reaching out! Always give from the heart ! Calvin did ., I love you Calvin and will never forget you- EVER!
I’m sad to see you leave us—- very sad indeed. Thank you for loving me - I am not worthy but you made me feel like I was. Run to Jesus - fly fast into His Arms - to the One you loved so much! Praise the Lord - you’re finally Home!

Working with Calvin and Carolyn at church, spending time planning and supervising our children’s activities, and eating lunch with them and the young children they cared for while the parents worked, leave me with great memories! Calvin and I shared many stories about our favorite heart doctor..... Dr. James Walker. To Molissa, Clark, and Danielle , I send my love and prayers.
