Mr. James V Pritt
May 17, 1933 – November 24, 2018
James V. "Jim" Pritt, 85, of Winfield, went to be with the Lord, November 24, 2018, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born May 17, 1933, in Charleston, the son of James Everett and Dicie Paxton Pritt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Daisy Pritt; sister, Janet Bloss; brother, Jerry Pritt; great - grandson, John David Nelson.
Jim retired from Western Electric, which is now AT & T. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Jim was an active member of Spring Hill Baptist Church and the St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73. He enjoyed spending time with the Jolly Seniors group and a member of the junior Order of United American Mechanics, St. Albans.
He is survived by his children, Kimmie Pritt (Sissy Turner) and Jimmy Pritt (Jennifer), all of Winfield; grandchildren, Mandy, Parker (Meegan) and Tanner Wolfe (Emily), Brittany Halstead (Jason), Shannon Persinger, Rechelle and Jackson Davis; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter, Dylan, Hadley, and Benson; and special friends, Jim and Sandy Hudson, Marge Pritt, Jeremy, Christy, and Helen Jeffers and his church family.
Jim will always be remembered for his selfless nature, always giving and doing for others. He adored his family and welcomed all of them along with his friends, into his home. He touched the lives of so many people and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His energy will live on within his family and friends who were all very special to him.
Celebration of Jim's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, at Spring Hill Baptist Church, 4707 Ohio Street, South Charleston, with Pastor Dean Chambers officiating. Military Graveside Rites will be conducted at the church by St. Albans VFW Post 6418 and American Legion Post 73.
Gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Casdorph & Curry Funeral Home, 110 B St., St. Albans, WV 25177.
