Michael “Mike” R. Steele, 69, of St. Clair, MO went Home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2018. He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Jessie (nee Clark) Steele and his siblings, Louis “Sonny”, Norman, Walter “Judy”, Violet “Vanie”, and Jackie. Mike is survived by his children, Christina (Tom) and Paul (Michelle) and their mother, Mary; grandchildren, Steven and Abbi; siblings, Fairy May (the late Gil), Sandra (Joe), and Pat (John); cherished uncle of Richard, David, Sara and many many more; and dear friends.
Mike was a proud member of the Highway 30 Car Club where he loved to showcase many classic cars throughout the years, including his award-winning ’69 “Busch can beer blue” Nova. Mike attended Morse Mill Baptist Church and was of strong faith. He retired from BFI after many years of hard work. He and his friend, Ronnie, joined the Vietnam War under the “Buddy System” where he was trained as a medic and earned a National Defense Medal and Sharpshooter and Marksman medals. Mike was a stubborn man but will be lovingly remembered for his big heart and love he shared with his family.
Friends may visit on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at Alexander White Mullen Funeral Home in St. Ann. Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 26th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
