Beloved husband of Louisa Cottone (nee DeLurgio); loving father of Anthony Vincent (Christina) Cottone; dearest brother of Giacomo (Antonia) Cottone, the late Salvatore (late Enza) Cottone, late Giovanna (late Mario) Cottone-Brusca and the late Rosalia (late Matteo) Cottone-Lo Porto, all of Italy; dear brother-in-law of Frank (JoAnn) DeLurgio, Anna (Tom) Stremlau, Elaine DeLurgio-Murphy and Joseph DeLurgio; Nicolo’s heart was close with all his nieces and nephews and he was a cousin and a dear friend to many.
Nicolo was born in Palermo, Sicily, married the love of his life Louisa in 1985 and came to the United States to start a different life over 35 years ago.
He was a hardworking man who loved the outdoors, a devoted fan of soccer, and playing Bocce Ball. Nicolo had an impressive home garden and said “A clean plentiful garden fuels a healthy and happy life”. No one ever left Nicolo’s house without his sauce and things from his garden. He put his heart and soul into his cooking and everything had to be perfect.
SERVICE: Visitation Wednesday, September 15th from 9:00 am until the start of Mass at 11:00 am at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 5130 Wilson Ave. at Marconi on the Hill. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.
