William G. Cocos Jr., 86, of Lemay, entered eternal rest on August 8, 2017. He is the beloved husband of Doris J. Cocos, nee Krechel, who survives. Mr. Cocos was active in his community as a business leader. He was a member of the Lemay Optimist Club, a former director of Midwest Bank and past president of the University of Missouri Board of Curators.
Mr. Cocos was born August 6, 1931, in St. Louis, a son of William G. Sr. and Florence, nee Sebel, Cocos. He issurvived by nieces and nephews William J. (Barbara), Richard (Paula), David (Debbie), Daniel (Lorie), Steve (Mindy,) and Jim (Pam) Cocos; Ann (Kevin) McNamara, Mike (Sandy) Paulson and Bobby Paulson; and a sister Ruth Paulson. Mr. Cocos is also survived by numerous great- and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister Valeria Heath and brother Cornel Cocos.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 am, Friday, Aug. 11, Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road. Entombment will follow in Mount Hope Mausoleum. Visitation is at the funeral home 4-9 pm Thurs, Aug 10. Memorial donations are suggested to Zion United Methodist Church and the University of Missouri Wm G. Cocos Jr. Endowment Fund.
